Follow the IMRD format to write a reasearch paper describing the Milgram Experiment – assume the point of view of Milgram or one of his assistants. the expected lenght is between 350-400 words.

Do research the subject extensively before you sit down to writing. Make sure you check back Swales & Feak for practical advice.

Make use of alternative descriptions of the experiment available online by presenting them as potential variations of the experiment procedure.

This assignment is only required if you’ve missed more than 2 classes (regardless of the reason).

Within four weeks of your absence* visit the editable google spreadsheet and follow the examples (submitted by KW) adding 20** more false friends in the empty rows below. Do not delete or change the rows added by other students – make sure what you add is original*** – new content.

Feel free to keep your copy of the false friends added, the google spreadsheet does not need to be saved in any way – all additions and changes are automatically recorded.

Successful (I will need to review your submission) completion of this assignment is crucial to your end-of-term credit.

*or before Dec 20 for absences prior to Nov 30

**add 20 new false friends for every absence above the 2 allowed by the school rules.

***the 3 example false friends are taken from Słownik Angielsko-Polski Cambridge – your submissions must be original – that is – cannot repeat the submissions of other students, by all means feel free to use the full variety of false friends lists and dictionaries available.

Statistics, Nov 12 - the day before session 4Just a bit of trivia this time.

Please take a look at the trend of visits to this website – especially as it peaks on Friday just before the start of session 4 on Nov 13-14. Your mileage may vary but please make sure you give yourself ample time to think about, draft, write, edit and review your paper before you submit it.

Cheers!
